The Philadelphia Flyers have finally
shitcaned their long-time pre-game
Pep Song.

Team officials realized that Kate
Smith's rendition of "God Bless America,"
which was played for decades before key
home games and helped them win two
Stanley Cups ages ago, has long its
firepower and had to be replaced.

Remember the Good Old Days when
it worked like a charm?

Consequently, both Kate and "God..."
have received their pink slips and have
been replaced by the new national
anthem that Congress has just approved
to replace "The Star-Spangled Banner."

As you know, Congress authorized
the change because of complaints that
the old national anthem -- with us since
the early 1930s -- had lost its effectiveness
in recent years.

Oh, by the way, this is the Flyers' new
pre-game Pep Song that will make its
debut when they host the Pittsburgh
Penguins at Wells Fargo Center Thursday
night.
